Day 6: Secret Fear

Today is a "write whatever you want day" so I picked a secret fear of mine. Of course I am scared of things like rats, tornadoes, etc. But I have another fear that I rarely admit.

I'm scared of being one of those people who "didn't know they were pregnant!" LOL Ridiculous right? But I've actually known two people in real life who didn't know they were pregnant until they gave birth (one thought she was going through menopause, they other was on drugs).  Then TLC came out with that show about all those women who didn't know they were pregnant.  I just don't understand how they could NOT know. I understand maybe not knowing for a few months, but there were times when I was pregnant that I couldn't sleep at night b/c Jackson was kicking me in the ribs. If you don't know you're pregnant, what in the world do you think is going on when that happens?

But obviously this happens more than one would think, so somehow it has worked its way into my mind that I might become one of those people!

What is your secret fear?

10 love me:

Haha! I'm one of those people too! I can't watch "I Didn't Even Know I Was Pregnant" without getting paranoid.

I have always thought those people were absolutely insane! At the end of a pregnancy you are miserable-I mean really!!!!

And when the baby starts moving-what do you think you have in there an alien inside your body?

I think it's crazy! and one fear you won't ever have to worry about coming true :)

I hate hate hate that show for the exact same reason! It makes me so paranoid.

I always wonder how on earth that could happen. My kids practically jumped around in there.

At this point, I just get scared of getting pregnant at all. We are done- 3 boys in 3.5 years and dh has been snipped, but not tested. I get scared of getting pregnant after we have made the decision not to have any more.

hahahahhahaha. when i had my first back spasms I was thinking omg I'm in labor and didn't know i was pregnant. but really - how do you make it without knowing?

I could see not knowing for maybe the first four...that would be crazy but for the whole nine months?

My secret fear, now that I'm a grandmother, is something terrible happening to my granddaughter, I'm always telling her mother to make sure the doors and windows are locked before going to bed.

Stay safe,

Donna

THat cracks me up! I agree, the kicking in the ribs was so crazy, I can't believe anyone wouldn't know they were pregnant...but apparently it happens.

I've wondered about this too! What kind of gas kicks you in the ribs?

I am really enjoying your blog. My husband is in the Navy too (but he's in school for now, so it will be a while before I am really a Navy wife).
