How to make your living room look ghetto

Step 1:One month into your marriage, spend way too much money on a 56" flat screen TV.

Step 2: Two and a half years later, finally find an entertainment center that fits your TV perfectly, matches your furniture, and doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Step 3: One month later, decide that letting your son watch TV for a few hours while you paint his bedroom won't cause you too much mommy guilt, and will let you get the job done faster. 30 minutes into prepping the room, your TV will turn off and never turn back on. It will die and your husband will have a heart attack over the loss of his precious baby.

Step 4: Because you can't live without LOST and Gossip Girl, replace the big screen with the small TV that you haven't used since college. It will be less than half the size of the old TV and will give you this wonderfully ghetto look...

Luckily this is a temporary fix. Our new TV should arrive today!

Oh, that is too good! I love how the little tv looks almost frihgtened in that big space!

Brandy said...

oh no. what did jackson do to your TV?!

Chris would have a huge meltdown if our tv goes poop. he's already worried about G slobbers on the fancy remote.

hahahaha! the exact opposite happened to us last year. we got a good deal on a new tv but didn't think through to how it was going to look on our old $50 stand from walmart. luckily we got something appropriate very quickly.

Baaaahahaha! That's too funny. It reminds me of when you see the small working tv sitting on top of the old broken one. Now that's ghetto! Hope y'all get your new TV soon!

Thats great! Am I understanding correctly, your huge 2 year old tv went conk, was there a warranty?

Cassie said...

Danielle- I will post an after pic!

Brandi- I don't think Jackson did anything to it. It had been on it's way out for awhile. That's what we get for buying a TV that's on sale b/c it was on display!

Trish- no we didn't have a warranty. I really wish we had gotten one now!

Stopping by from SITS - this made me laugh!

Happy Friday Follow! I'm a follower of your blog now!

This made me giggle. You can add to that ghetto-lived in look by having a hole ripped in the side of your couch by your cats and using a nice throw blanket to cover it up (since that's way more cost effective than actually replacing the over sized 3 section couch)!
