Lately, one of my favorite things to do is to browse and talk on the message boards over at The Nest Baby. I have to tell you, yesterday I was a little disappointed though. There were a few posts about whether or not it was okay for those of us who are pregnant for the first time but are still not due for a few more months to celebrate Mother's Day next week.
I say, heck yeah! Why would anyone tell a pregnant woman that she couldn't celebrate Mother's Day? We have been carrying around and taking care of our babies for several months now. I'm sure it doesn't compare to what motherhood will be like when our babies actually arrive, but telling a pregnant woman that she is not a mother is like telling her that the baby she is carrying is not her child! It just doesn't make sense.
So I hope that all of you pregnant ladies out there who want to celebrate Mother's Day, will! I would love to just spend the day getting some attention from my husband. I'd love a back or a foot massage, and if he would make me dinner then I might just be the happiest girl alive.

4 love me:
Hiya Hun!
Over here in Ireland Mothers Day is celebrated in March. I had a lovely Mother's day and agree with you that we have just as much right to celebrate as anyone else... we ARE mothers already.
Hubby made me french toast with bacon and maple syrup and my mum and dad got me a Body Shop gift basket with body butter and cocoa butter shower gel and stuff. My mum also wrote me the most lovely card ever. :-) I had a fab first mothers day with my hubby and my bump.
Celebrate it!! :-) hehe. x
I absolutely think that you should be celebrating Mother's Day. It is ridiculous to ignore the fact that you have been caring for a baby since conception. I hope that you have a great first Mother's Day!
Heck yeah indeed! I totally did when I was pregnant:)
I couldn't agree more! Actually, the hubby got me a beautiful necklace for Mother's Day last year when I was pregnant. Course, it was supposed to be a Christmas present but he ordered it too late and they were out of stock at the holiday time...and I picked it out...but who's keeping track! Get a massage! Eat French Toast! You deserve it!
